Feeling Great With Benefits!

Happy September, I hope it's the best one yet!

Since starting on this journey with thyroid cancer I have been learning about and trying new things, most of which were not fun or pleasant. But I truly believe there is a light at the end of every tunnel. The light for me is the benefits I'm enjoying from the Gerson Diet.
First, I feel really good. I have a lot more energy, I'm sleeping better, and my mind is clear. When I wake up, I'm not so drowsy, I don't have any of the morning puffiness I used to have, and I'm no longer addicted to coffee. I missed it at first, but not any more.
Second, I've dropped 30lbs. of weight!! My scale hasn't budged for years and in a little over 2 months I've lost all that weight! It's amazing. I fit into my clothes much better, and some are even getting too big for me. This wasn't my goal when I started this diet, but it is an awesome added benefit. The first picture above is from the beginning of May. The second picture I took the beginning of September.
The third effect I've gotten from this diet is lower blood pressure. I've been taking medication for high blood pressure for around five years. I stopped it the first month I was on this diet. I check my blood pressure a few times a week and it is consistently below 120/80. I was, and still am, so excited about this. I never wanted to go on blood pressure medication, but felt I had to since it had gone up to and even over 160/90. I decided pills would be better than a stroke.
I would never have done a diet like this if I didn't have to. But since I feel it is the path I need to take to cure my cancer and heal my body, it's nice to enjoy these added benefits.
