Good Day Everyone - I hope you enjoy every second of it!
One of the first things I heard about on my journey with thyroid cancer were coffee enemas. I did not want to do them and kept putting off finding out about the procedure. It went on my 'to do' list. I wanted to know why they were so important; I just didn't want to do them, so I didn't look into it further. But then, article after article, video after video stated how important it was to do coffee enemas, especially if you are juicing or detoxing. Sooo... I am now doing coffee enemas!
Let me tell you about the benefits. First, coffee enemas help to detoxify the body. We take in toxins all day long. It's the world we live in. Toxins enter our bodies through our food, the air we breathe, cleaning supplies, and even our toiletries. There is very little we can do about the exposure to chemicals we face daily, but we can try to eliminate them from our bodies. Detoxifying helps to clear the path for the immune system to do a better job and hopefully fight off whatever diseases our body may be facing.
It also helps to detoxify and heal the liver. The liver filters the blood, detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. Having a healthy liver is really important in general, but even more so when the body is trying to heal.
And... it is used as part of the protocol for the Gerson Therapy. The purpose of using coffee enemas with the diet is to clear the body of any dead cells (hopefully dead cancer cells) as well as detoxifying the body and liver. Here is a really good article for further reading: Scientific Basis of Coffee Enemas.
I recently started taking coffee enemas. I use a multipurpose hot water bottle and follow the Gerson Recipe. After the coffee has gone into the colon, it is supposed to stay there for 15 minutes. Be sure the coffee and water are not too cold or hot. It should be body temperature. If you get crampy, stop the flow for a few seconds and then continue.
I have only been doing coffee enemas for about a month. I find it very difficult to hold the coffee for the required 15 minutes, and as of now, I have not been able to do it. My goal is to conquer this, and I will. There are many articles and videos about coffee enemas. The best information about this and the Gerson Diet can be found in, "Healing The Gerson Way", by Charlotte Gerson and Beata Bishop. If you decide to try enemas or the Gerson Diet, be sure to read the book. This will help you to totally understand the Gerson way of life. The book is really informative and explains the importance of the procedures required for the diet. I would love to hear from you to see how you're doing.
For now, wishing you health and happiness!
